What is DIDI Chart?

In today’s shipping industry, safe navigation depends on accurate and up-to-date electronic charts. Yet for many shipowners, keeping ECDIS systems updated still means manual transfers, USB sticks without verification, and hours of crew time. These outdated processes not only slow operations but also create compliance gaps and cyber risks. DIDI Chart was built to change that.

It acts as a secure bridge between the online world and your offline ECDIS, ensuring that every ENC update arrives encrypted, verified, and installation-ready. With Zero Trust architecture and Secure Receive technology, DIDI Chart eliminates the weak spots of manual processes. No open ports, no return paths — your system stays offline, but your charts stay fully up to date.

For crews, it’s plug-and-play simple.
For shipowners, it’s peace of mind:
automated compliance, global coverage, and resilient cyber protection — all in one solution.

Online data in. No risk out.

No more copy-pasting and losing files.
No more outdated ECDIS.

Captain, we’ve automated the boring stuff.

How DIDI Chart Handles ENC Updates

1. Vendor Notification

DIDI Cloud receives a notification from the ECDIS vendor — either via email or a secure REST API using OAuth 2.0 — that new ENC data is available.

2. Secure Download

New chart files are automatically downloaded from the vendor’s SFTP server into the DIDI Cloud application.

3. File Integrity Check

Each downloaded file is validated against the provider’s integrity values to ensure data authenticity.

4. Chart Server Sync

The DIDI Chart Server checks in with the cloud every few minutes via REST. If new ENC files are available, they are downloaded immediately.

5. Local Re-Validation

On the DIDI Chart Server, the files are re-validated to confirm successful and secure transfer.

6. ECDIS Provisioning

Validated data is made available to the vessel’s ECDIS via an independent, isolated USB storage — fully automated, secure, and audit-ready.
