The following graphic outlines the key deadlines for EU MRV compliance, from the approval of the Monitoring Plan (MP) to the submission of verified emissions data and obtaining the Document of Compliance (DOC).

From January 1, 2025, it will apply to general cargo vessels (400-5,000 GT) and offshore vessels (≥400 GT). Shipowners and operators must start preparing now to ensure compliance.

The European Commission (EC) is currently working on guidance for offshore ship emissions, and compliance will play a crucial role in the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and FuelEU Maritime regulations.
